NEW WRITING FROM ISRAEL

A weekend of collaboration between Israeli playwrights and British directors/actors, presenting works-in-progress showings of translated extracts of 5 Israeli plays to an invited and paying audience. Extracts from 5 plays, especially selected by Tik-sho-ret Theatre Company, highlight the surprising range of styles, voices and perspectives in contemporary Israeli theatre.

I AM SPEAKING TO YOU IN CHINESE by Savyon Liebrecht

A staged reading at Hampstead Theatre, followed by a post-performance discussion with the Cultural Attaché of the Israeli Embassy alongside the director and members of the cast. A powerfully evocative drama set in Israel that tells the story of one family, from the present, back to the sixties.

PLANET PALESTINE by Sharon Garfinkel
